Lord of Misrule ♡

Every year, around Autumn/Winter time Lush bring out a whole collection of exciting new products, but every year there's one thing I look forward to more than anything else, Lord Of Misrule.
I fell in love with the Lord of Misrule bath bombs years ago and since then it's grown so popular that Lush have created a few more items that share its fragrance.

To me Lord of Misrule has quite a unique scent, it's comforting and warming, perfect for cold winter nights, it has notes of vanilla and patchouli with a black pepper twist, leaving it with a herby spicy blend with sweet notes as well, the scents are so well balanced and I really wish Lush would make it permanent. It was originally part of their halloween range a few years ago, and it still counts as their halloween range each year, but they keep it through to Christmas and I'm so grateful that they do.
The Lord of Misrule bath ballistic is one of the larger of their bath bombs, it's a beautiful green colour, speckled with pink and white with a crown like shape indented into the top, then when you pop this in your bath the deep, wine red core is revealed, leaving you with a beautiful ruby red bath. It really is one of my favourites.

Last year I found myself falling in love with this bath bomb even more than previous years, I stocked up on enough to keep me going for a month or two after Christmas but I was still sad that I was going to have to go without it for almost a whole year, that is until Lush Oxford Street opened in the Summer. Obviously the news that a new flagship store with hundreds of exclusive products was exciting enough on it's own, but the best news of all, they were bringing a Lord of Misrule Shower Cream to the store. I had actually tweeted Lush at one point saying how amazing it would be if they created a L.o.M Shower gel so I got very excited when I started to see the shower cream in peoples Lush hauls, and then of course when I got the chance to visit the store for myself in July I had to buy myself a bottle.

As it's a shower cream, not a gel, it's nicely moisturising and, well, creamy. I also like to use this in my hair, after I've rinsed my conditioner out, it doesn't have any real further benefits to hair but the scent lingers so you can smell Lord of Misrule in your hair once it's dry. Don't worry if you can't get to London for this though as they have also brought the Shower Cream into their Christmas range in local stores so it's easier to get hold of for now.
Lush also have a solid body scrub with the scent, called Rough With The Smooth, I haven't actually had a chance to try this yet, but it feels more sturdy than their other solid scrubs, and a little waxy which I'm hoping will mean it will help keep the skin from drying out when using it, I also feel as though it will hold together better than the others, as they can crumble when they get too wet.

As this scent is so popular Lush sometimes release perfume versions of it, I now have both the solid perfume and the spray, they are slightly pricy but the scent is strong and stays put on the skin, I find that one spritz of the perfume will last me an entire working day, and have received many compliments while wearing it, as it isn't your typical perfume smell. It is really worth keeping your eye on the Lush Kitchen to see if they get released again.

So there it is, a rather long, rambly post entirely dedicated to Lord of Misrule, a very deserving Lush product that I'm so glad they developed into an entire line, I'll leave links to all of the products if possible, and to the Lush Kitchen site, as they may appear on there during the year, it's also worth following them on twitter to keep up to date on the kitchen, I'm tempted to write a post about the Lush Kitchen soon as I've recently developed a slight addiction to it, I've placed so many orders in the last month or  so!

The Lord of Misrule limited edition items should be available for a little while longer, possibly until January, but it really is popular so if you want to try it you should probably get it soon.

Thank you for reading xx
